2023–2024 Academic Awards Earned by Scripps Students and Alums

As of spring 2024, six Scripps students and one alum have been named Fulbright awardees. An additional eight students and alums received prestigious fellowships, scholarships, and awards to pursue teaching and research across the globe.

Fulbright US Student Program

The Fulbright US Student Program provides grants for individually designed study/research projects or for English teaching assistant programs. Scripps remains a top producing Fulbright institution for the 2023–24 academic year.

Barry Goldwater Scholarship

The Barry Goldwater Scholarship supports college sophomores and juniors who intend to pursue research careers in the natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering.

The Projects for Peace Award funds student-designed and -implemented grassroots “projects for peace” anywhere in the world.

Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship

The Mellon Foundation’s Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship supports undergraduates going into PhD programs in order to promote diverse perspectives in the humanities and related disciplines.

The Senior Foote Fellowships support outstanding third-year graduate students at UCLA with a stipend upon completion of their PhD.
