Hi everyone! My name is Michaela (she/her) and I’m a rising junior from Claremont, CA! Feel free to ask me about any local restaurants, hiking trails, art museums, etc. I just recently declared my major as a dual major in Math and Data Science! Scripps students don’t have to officially declare their major until the end of their sophomore year, so I was able to use the first two years to explore classes and figure out what I was interested in. It was definitely scary coming into college without any strong academic interests, but I’m so glad that I found something I enjoyed. I have no doubt that anyone who comes to Scripps will be able to find and explore their passions. I’ve always said that if I didn’t live in Claremont, Scripps would be my dream school. I 100% did not expect to actually end up at Scripps, but now that I’m here I wouldn’t have it any other way. The incredibly tight-knit community of a historically women’s college combined with the larger campus feel of the rest of the 5C consortium has truly become my home (about 2 miles) away from home. Some of my hobbies include playing soccer, crocheting, doing anything crafts/art related, going to concerts in LA, playing games, and hanging out with friends. I love being an Admission Ambassador and would be happy to answer questions about anything!
Ask me about: Local spots, coming into college undecided, clubs and intramural sports, diversity at the 5Cs, living in the Substance Free Learning Community, taking classes at other campuses, anything else!
