Scripps Presents @Noon with DJ Kurs from Deaf West
Scripps Presents @Noon series is back!
The Scripps Presents @Noon series incorporates a diverse range of artists, authors, activists, and scholars in an intimate setting that is both interactive and accessible for students, faculty, staff, and the greater community. Please feel free to bring your lunch as this is a noontime program; light refreshments will also be available.
Join us as we feature artists inspired by deaf culture and the expressive power of sign language in the field of theater and film.
Featuring David Kurs, artistic director of Deaf West founded in Los Angeles in 1991. Deaf West engages artists and audiences in unparalleled theater and media experiences weaving ASL with spoken English to create a seamless ballet of movement and voice.
Sage Anaïs Wong-Davies, Scripps ’25 and Kim Drake, Scripps associate professor of Writing and Rhetoric will moderate.
This program is presented in English and ASL and made possible by the Alexa Fullerton Hampton ’42 Fund.
