Gabrielle Giffords is a Scripps alum from the Class of ’93, a leading gun violence prevention advocate, and a former member of US Congress, a position she held from 2005 to 2012 as a Democratic representative from Arizona.

Gabby Giffords Won’t Back Down, tells the extraordinary story of her relentless fight to recover following an assassination attempt in 2011. This all led to her new life as one of the most effective activists in the battle against gun violence.

She currently leads Giffords, the gun violence prevention nonprofit organization she co-founded.
