Scripps Presents @Noon Series: Madeleine Nakamura
Join us for an engaging conversation with Madeleine Nakamura as part of the Scripps Presents @Noon Series. Nakamura is an author of queer fantasy fiction whose debut novel Cursebreakers, released in September 2023, earned a Kirkus Star and a starred review from Independent Book Review. She is based in Los Angeles, California. Nakamura will be joined in conversation by Rachael Warecki ’08, writer and MacDowell Fellow.
The event will include a book signing where attendees will have an opportunity to get a personalized copy of Cursebreakers and speak with the author. The first 3 students to arrive will get a free copy! Audience members will also be invited to ask questions about the process of publishing a book and discuss the craft of writing. Nakamura will be independently donating 20% of the price of each book copy sold to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
