| Professor Harley performed “Women Awake: Four Musical Premieres,” newly commissioned pieces of vocal chamber music by composers Richard Cornell, Ping Gao, Pablo Ortiz, and Marjorie Merryman ’72, setting texts by and about female spiritual practitioners from several world traditions. Performances were at the Tsai Theatre, Boston University, Boston, MA, October 2019, and at Garrison Theatre for the Performing Arts, Scripps College, November 2019. Plans are underway to tour the program and to record the pieces for release on Professor Harley’s micro label, Voices of the Pearl. |
