As Scripps winds down another year of growth, achievements, and successes, it’s an opportune time to show our collective support as a community of alums, family members, and friends by making a gift to the College. Although we ask for your support throughout the year, during the month of June we will show you how a $5.00 gift impacts the student experience.
On June 13, consider giving up a latte from your favorite coffee shop. You are ensuring that Scripps art students have pencils for their Art 105: Introduction to Drawing course. By forgoing a copy of your favorite magazine, you help clean one square foot of tile on the Seal Court murals. By surrendering that Mega Millions Pick 5 ticket, you provide a pair of safety goggles for a science student to conduct valuable research. Take the $5.00 you would spend on these small life luxuries, and make a gift to Scripps. Your $5.00 does more than keep the lights on at the College—it ensures that all students have the necessary tools to succeed in their academic journey.
All gifts made on this Day of Giving support The Scripps Fund, making it possible for future students and alums to make change.
Your gift matters, every year. To show the importance of annual giving, Scripps Trustee and alumna Nancy Katayama ’77, alumna Joanna Hamel Dunklee ’62, and an anonymous trustee and alumna from the Class of 1974 have offered a generous matching challenge totaling $50,000. Every gift made during the Day of Giving will be matched dollar-for-dollar. Help us reach our goal of 200 donors and make change for Scripps!
Remember, it’s not too early to make a gift to the campaign. Visit our Day of Giving site for additional information and updates.
We have created a social media toolkit to spread the word! Use the images and banners on your Facebook profile and show your friends that you support Scripps.
