Sandra Cisneros’s novel The House on Mango Street (1984) received the Before Columbus American Book Award in 1985. She also is the author of two books of poetry, Bad Boys (1980) and My Wicked Wicked Ways (1987). A collection of her short stories is forthcoming from Random House.
