Rolando Hinojosa is the author of a series of novels with the collective title The Klail City Death Trip Series. He received the Premio Quinto Sol for the novel Estampas del Valle y otras Obras (1973) and the Casa de las Américas Prize for his novel Klail City y sus alrededores (1976). His recasting of the latter novel into English was published as Klail City (1987).
