Part-Time Visiting Lecturer in Ceramics and Sculpture – SPRING 2025

Scripps College, a women’s liberal arts college with a strong interdisciplinary tradition, invites applications for a part-time Visiting Lecturer in Ceramics and Sculpture. This is a one-semester nonrenewable position for the spring of 2025. An M.F.A. demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level, and an active exhibition record are required. Applicant must be conversant in contemporary art theory, all aspects of ceramics (including but not limited to hand building, gas and electric kiln firing processes, glaze chemistry, and ceramics history past and present), basic woodworking, plaster processes and basic mold making.

 

Teaching load includes three undergraduate courses:

Introduction to Ceramic Sculpture (T/TH 10:00-12:30)

Introduction to Ceramic Sculpture (T/TH 1:15-3:45

Introduction to Sculpture (Flexible Time Slot)

Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate a commitment to the College’s goal of improving higher education for underrepresented students. The salary for this position will range from $25,110 to $27,900 and will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
