BuddhistDoor Global published an article by Meher McArthur, the Gabrielle Jungels-Winkler curator of academic programs and collections, titled “Tara: A Powerful Feminine Force in the Buddhist Pantheon.” The article explores depictions of the goddess Tara, whom McArthur cites as “undoubtedly the most powerful female deity in the Buddhist pantheon.” In her analysis, McArthur features three pieces from Scripps’ own collection in the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery.
