Award-winning news anchor and reporter Maria Hinojosa shared her experiences as the first Latina journalist at National Public Radio, and her successes and challenges telling stories “about the America that we are,” in a conversation with Southern California Public Radio’s Alex Cohen at Scripps College’s public event series, Scripps Presents, on Oct. 4, 2016. Highlights of the event’s conversation were reported by Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, and sister newspapers in the region, The San Bernardino Sun and San Gabriel Valley Tribune. KPCC-FM radio station’s Take Two news show also ran segments of the recorded event on their Oct. 6 broadcast.
