“My children are not the only family members who have inspired me to shift my thinking lately,” writes Andrea Jarrell ’84 for the New York Times‘ Motherlode. For her, the recent admission policy change at Scripps College was an eye-opening experience: “I finally heard what other alumnae were saying: Any student who has ever been female or who identifies as such is part of a spectrum of ‘woman’ and therefore can further the mission of a women’s college. In an aha moment, I reversed my position, becoming an advocate for the new policy.”
