Gabby Giffords ’93 Joins Selection Committee for Teen Playwriting Competition

Former United States Representative, gun violence prevention advocate, and Scripps alum Gabby Giffords ’93 joined the selection committee for the fourth annual ENOUGH! Plays to End Gun Violence teen playwriting competition.

Teens are invited to submit a 10-minute play that tackles the issue of gun violence. Winning playwrights will receive a $500 stipend with their work performed nationwide at a series of readings, including at The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

Giffords has become one of the preeminent voices on gun control after a 2011 assassination attempt on her life that killed six people and injured 12 others. For more information on the competition, click here
