
Eli Winkelman ’07, who founded the nonprofit Challah for Hunger while a student at Scripps, spoke to the Austin American-Statesman about her current business, CRAFT. Winkelman founded the donation-based community makerspace after the unexpected death of her partner in 2013. “When I was ready to do something again, I just wanted to make things,” Winkelman said. “. . . sometimes people come in as guests, and sometimes they come in for unknown reasons, and people have become friends of mine.”
