Ellen Browning Scripps was highlighted in San Diego Magazine‘s issue celebrating women’s contributions to Southern California’s past and present. In addition to founding Scripps College, Miss Scripps and her family were influential in San Diego, donating to scientific and educational institutions such as the San Diego Natural History Museum.
