Lynne Thompson ’72, poet laureate of Los Angeles, is one of the writers who makes LA a “great poetry town,” according to the Los Angeles Times‘ Lit City series, which focuses on different aspects of literary Los Angeles. “In the end . . . it all comes back to poetry,” writes David L. Ulin, the Times‘ former book editor and book critic, adding that local poets’ work “evokes Los Angeles as a psychic landscape but also as a physical one.”
