The New Yorker highlighted the work of California photographers who are confronting the state’s history, including Ken Gonzales-Day, Fletcher Jones Chair in Art and professor of art. Gonzales-Day’s ongoing Erased Lynchings series began with a history of lynching in California. Photographs in his series have been acquired by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, and other prestigious museums.
