Scripps Director of Admission Laura Stratton spoke with US News & World Report to give some tips on how college applicants can stand out. Alongside admission directors from Vermont Law and Graduate School and the University of Montana, Stratton spoke about the importance of researching a college, expressing confidence, and demonstrating passion.
“College admission counselors don’t seek to be impressed by students,” says Stratton. “We get excited when there is a clear alignment between what a student is seeking in a college community, both academically and socially, and what we can provide.”
Stratton also underscored the importance of following application instructions and showing gratitude for those who have supported students’ academic journeys.
