Miriam Raffel-Smith ’20 urges California’s political leaders to continue taking measures to abate the harmful effects of pollution in anop-ed column published recently in the San Francisco Examiner. Raffel-Smith, an environmental studies major at Scripps College and a resident of Richmond, California, writes in support of the cap and trade extension recently renewed by the state legislature and calls for further accountability as California takes the lead in climate action.
