In celebration of its 75th anniversary, Scripps College is pleased to present an address entitled “Breast Cancer and Hormones” by Dr. Susan M. Love, Medical Director of the Susan Love, M.D. Breast Cancer Foundation and an internationally recognized leader in the breast cancer advocacy movement. Dr. Love will speak on Tuesday, October 2 at 12:00 noon in Balch Auditorium, at 1030 Columbia, on the Scripps campus. This event is free and open to the public.
As the author of Susan Love’s Breast Book (3rd ed., 2000), Dr. Love gained widespread attention both for her innovative approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer and for her compassionate approach to women with breast cancer. The New York Times called Dr. Love’s book “the bible for women with breast cancer,” while the Chicago Tribune said, “After a breast-cancer diagnosis, most women call a specialist. Then, to understand it all, they consult Dr. Susan Love’s Breast Book ¼ authoritative, understandable, reassuring.” Released in 1997, Dr. Susan Love’s Hormone Book: Making Informed Choices about Menopause spent seven weeks on the bestseller list.
