Lynne Thompson ’72 is one of 22 poet laureates across the US who will receive a fellowship from the Academy of American Poets, the organization announced. The Academy supports poet laureates, their poetry, and their community programming through its Poet Laureate Fellows program, which will award a combined total of $1.1 million to poet laureates this year. Thompson is the current poet laureate of Los Angeles, a role to which she was appointed in 2021.
