Bee Artist to Speak at Scripps

As part of the Brad and Mary Anne Blaine Faculty Lecture Series, Nancy Macko, professor of art, will present "Lessons from the Hive: Artists Who Work With Bees and Bee Media" on Monday, March 4, at 7 p.m. in the Hampton Room of the Malott Commons. This lecture is free and open to the public.

Professor Macko’s most recent solo exhibition was "The Honeycomb Wall" at Nortel, Inc. in Los Angeles. A participant in numerous juried and invitational group exhibitions, she is also a professional website developer and graphic designer and her work has been featured in newspapers and magazines nationwide. Macko, who joined the Scripps faculty in 1986, earned her master’s in education and an MA and an MFA in painting and printmaking at the University of California, Berkeley.

Former Scripps professor of history and current trustee Brad Blaine, along with his wife, Mary Anne, have generously underwritten this lecture series featuring outstanding Scripps faculty to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Scripps College.
