Con Gioia Early Music Ensemble, under the direction of Scripps College music professor and Con Gioia founder Preethi de Silva, will give a concert "Bach & The Cembalo Concertato," on Thursday, February 28, at 6:45 p.m. at the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum on the Claremont McKenna College campus. This event is free and open to the public.
The evening’s program will include Bach’s Concerto in F minor for Harpsichord & Strings, Concerto in A minor for Flute, Violin, Harpsichord, & Strings, Concerto in G minor for Harpsichord & Strings, and Concerto in C minor of Two Harpsichords & Strings. Featured performers are Preethi de Silva and Kathleen McIntosh, harpsichords; Stephen Schultz, baroque flute; and Lisa Weiss, baroque violin.
