Ohio State University’s Project Narrative podcast has featured Professor of English Suzanne Keen on a recent episode. The monthly series spotlights a narrative theorist who selects a short passage to read and discuss with the host. Keen selected John Cheever’s 1960 short story “The Death of Justina,” which follows a man who tries to bury his wife’s cousin after she dies on their sofa.
“I love this story,” Keen said during the episode. “Every time I read it, I think ‘God, it’s even more complicated than I thought it was the last time I read it.’”
