Scripps College has climbed 24 spots to #16 in Forbes‘ Top 25 Liberal Arts Colleges ranking for 2017, up from #40 in 2016. In addition, Scripps moves to #8 from last year’s #14 spot on the national publication’s Top 25 Western Colleges list. The College has also placed #43 in Forbes‘ ranking of the country’s Top 50 Colleges.
Now in its 10th year, the Forbes Top Colleges ranking places its focus on the direct benefits a college or university provides its students, weighing such variables as alumni salaries, graduation rates, student debt upon graduation, and student satisfaction. Forbes editors have stressed a change in the 2017 rankings methodology to “better reflect the values of superior return on investment, leadership and success, and a first-rate student-consumer experience,” according to the Forbes website.
