President Lori Bettison-Varga has announced the appointment of Rebecca Lee as interim dean of students for Scripps College, effective July 1, 2010. Lee will replace Vice President and Dean of Students Debra Wood, who leaves her position after 12 years of service.

So it was no surprise they would support an initiative to establish an endowed scholarship for a deserving Scripps student. It’s official: Fritz Weis becomes 7th president of Scripps, for 2007-09

One simple word – its addition or removal – makes a difference. Just after electing Lori Bettison-Varga as Scripps’ next president, the Board of Trustees voted to remove “interim” from Fritz Weis’s title and make him the official 7th president of Scripps College.

Cecilia Conrad has accepted the position of Vice President and Dean of the College at Pomona College, effective July 1, 2009. Currently on leave from the Pomona College faculty to serve a two-year term as Vice President and Dean of Faculty at Scripps College, Conrad has been a member of the Pomona College faculty since 1995 and is the Stedman-Sumner Professor of Economics.
