Sreileak Hour, a Scripps College sophomore and SHE-CAN scholar, recently blogged about her work as a summer intern for the Securities and Exchange Commission of Cambodia. Hour, who grew up in Cambodia, is earning her BA degree in economics at Scripps and was selected for the scholar program because of her field of study and interest in using her skills and knowledge to help raise the standard of living for the poor in her home country. Hour is one of SHE-CAN’s inaugural class of four students from Cambodia, selected from the post-conflict country for her potential as an agent of change, and intends to return upon earning her undergraduate and graduate degrees in the U.S.
