Scripps College president Lara Tiedens noted the importance of women’s colleges and how an education in the liberal arts offers freedom in choice of careers in an interview with the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin’s Beau Yarbrough, as she closes out her first year as president. Tiedens also spoke about how the politically engaged Scripps students have challenged her. “Yes, they have been challenging me and they should be challenging me,” she said. “We want them to be dreaming of the world they want to create.”
