Adam Davis, professor of art at Scripps College, speaks on “Artist-in-Residence Programs: A Field Manual and Travel Journal,” as part of the Malott Commons Tuesday Noon Academy, on Tuesday, April 5, at 12:00 p.m. The doors will open at 11:45 a.m. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Over the past twelve years, Professor Davis has participated in several Artist-In-Residence programs, nationally as well as internationally. Davis will discuss these programs as well as sharing his travel diary. He will address the how-to’s of finding a program best suited for ones needs as well as reporting on his own research and experiences.
To date, Professor Davis has participated in residencies at The Archie Bray Foundation For The Ceramic Arts in Helena, MT; The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, PA; Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder in Trondheim, Norway; Svenska Konstskolans Vänner in Nykarleby, Finland; Sculpture Space in Utica, New York; Bait Makan in Amman Jordan; and Homesession in Barcelona, Spain.
The Tuesday Noon Academy is a weekly, one-hour series of lectures held in the Hampton Room of the Malott Commons. Bring your own lunch, or purchase lunch at the Malott Commons Dining Hall. Dessert and coffee are provided.
