Jessica Ng ’15 has co-authored a paper on global cooling during the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM), published in Nature. The LGM is “the coldest multimillennial interval of the last glacial period,” and, per the paper’s abstract, examining the extent of the planet’s cooling during this period is an “important constraint for evaluating estimates of Earth’s climate sensitivity.” The results of the study suggest greater climate sensitivity than previous research has demonstrated. Ng is a member of the Geosciences Research Division at Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla, California.
