Before deciding to change careers and pursue medicine, our students come from a fascinating variety of backgrounds. Some joined us directly after completing their undergraduate education, while others had years in an established profession. Students come from a wide range of backgrounds and careers, including in the fields of acting, speech pathology, finance, music production, gerontology, prosthetics, national parks education, politics, the military, social work, medical scribing, and psychology.
All of them made the decision to change their lives by beginning the Scripps College Post-Baccalaureate Premedical Program as the first step toward becoming a medical professional.
"My favorite part of the program is the people, staff and students alike. Everyone comes in with a hearty intuition to balance their lives. It helps that we're all from so many different backgrounds, bringing to the program just as many unique ways of being and living."
