A Medieval Sampler of Accomplished and Notorious Women
– Out of Print –
In light of new scholarship about medieval women, the typography students were asked to write about an accomplished woman from the medieval period. They were asked to write something lively, more like a newspaper article rather than a term paper. The text is printed in Scripps College Old Style, surrounded by a border adapted from a 15th century manuscript. The colors of the text type are dark brown and wine, and the border is printed in copper. The binding has eight signatures sewn with gold thread over tapestry ribbons. The paper is Nideggen with Roma endsheets, and the exposed boards are tan museum board with hidden clasps. There are 55 printed pages. The size is 5.375″ x 7″, in an edition of 60 copies.
